Love Wins? If that is the question, of course the answer to the question is that He does...He did. It is finished and the debt was paid.
I want to respond to the video I just viewed promoting Rob Bell's book entitled: "Love Wins". First of all I would like to say that there have been many books written about the subject of what happens to a person after he/she dies and I would suggest that the reason this one is intriguing, is due for the most part to the popularity (or notoriety) of the author. I have not read the book, but I have seen the promo video and it only whets the appetite by suggesting that perhaps those who do not believe on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ do indeed go to heaven because after all...love wins. But surely this is not a new concept. I do not know whether the author capitalized the word "Love" because it is a name or because it is the first word in the title, but we must remember that Jesus did not simply have love for mankind. He IS love. Therefore I emphatically say once again, "Love wins" (more appropriately "Love won"). I do not care for labels, so the term "universalism" has no appeal for me. But there are several obvious verses in the Bible that indicate there is certainly a place called hell and there are indeed human souls wearing human flesh that will go there.
