Boardwalk

The balcony is not too high off the ground which gives me a wonderful view of the ebb and flow that is the Gulf of Mexico. Gulls are nose-diving for sea-fare...an aged couple is strolling along casually...keeping each other warm in the record-low temps that chill the sandy surroundings...not a cloud in the afternoon sky, and all is serenely sedate....stunningly beautiful. How odd that what I notice most is the short boardwalk that ushers pedestrians to the shoreline of this lost paradise...so natural...so full of its Creator. It makes me think of worship...corporate worship to be more precise...corporate worship leadership to be exact. The unfolding scene from this balcony is a gentle reminder of just what it means to lead our worship experiences at Clearwater. To be a simple walkway to the beauty of an audience with the Almighty...to guide worshippers to the midst of Majesty, and offer them opportunity to sense His glory...shudder in His presence. Oh, how He loves us. He certainly demonstrates it in sea breezes and ocean crests, but we can hear it in the song of the Redeemed and the spoken Word each Sunday morning. Pine planks escort these beach combers to the beauty of the beach. May we worship leaders accompany a congregation to the splendor of the cross.
