Life Sentence

Read Genesis Chapter 5. I want to show you something that might shed some light on just how much God loves you. It's where we find the genealogy from Adam to Noah...that's it...nothing else...pretty boring, huh? Watch this. Each name has a meaning and they are as follows Adam means "man"; Seth means "appointed"; Enosh means "incurable"; Kenan means "sorrow"; Mahalalel means "the Blessed God"; Jared means "shall come down"; Enoch (who didn't die) means "teaching"; Methuselah (from the earliest non-canonized traditions it is taught that Enoch received a prophecy telling that a great flood would come but that it would not come until his son had died, and that his death would bring the great flood of Genesis 6. This would explain why Enoch's son, Methuselah's name means "His death shall bring"; Lamech means "despairing"; and Noah means "rest". It took one beautiful chapter, and 1056 years to move us from Adam to Noah...and when Noah was born, God completed a sentence to those He loves ...Here it is:

"Man (is) appointed an incurable sorrow (but) the Blessed God shall come down teaching (that) His death shall bring (a) despairing rest."

"But God demonstrates His own love toward us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" Romans 5:8

Thank You Jesus for giving me this unspeakably glorious "life sentence".
