As we get set to begin the "God of This City" series and prepare to explore the truths that are richly embedded in the fabric of each of the seven locations of the churches of Asia Minor I want to invite you to read Revelation (not "Revelations") chapters 1-3. Take yourself back to this "East of the Aegean Sea" locale. Then I'd like for you to ask yourself this question: "If each "member" of the seven churches were just like me, which letter would most likely have my address on it?" It has been an eye-opening experience for me as I carefully poured over the letters and I hope it will challenge you as well. What about Clearwater? For those of us who are members, we might do well to ask: "If every member had the same commitment to Christ as I do, where would we be as a church?" I've been thinking a lot lately about 2 Chronicles 16:9. It says, "For the eyes of the Lord travel to and fro throughout the whole earth that He might find someone whose heart is completely His." This verse challenges me as I seek to be a man that runs after the heart of God not because I "oughta", but because I prefer doing so "above all else". D.L. Moody once said, "The world has yet to see what God will do with a man fully consecrated to Him." Am I ready to be that man? I want to be...oh, I want to be. What about each of you? Are you ready to be a person used of God in such a way that He would say to you, "Well done...come...share your Master's happiness"?
