I'm smiling...somebody just emailed me and asked where the post for today is. You know you put these things out there and wonder if it makes any difference. I'm so glad it does, at least to a couple of us. I mean, I'd do it anyway. It's a journal...kinda..but still...you know it's just good to share a thought or two with people you're "doing life" with. Ever feel like that? You give time...or effort...or money...or just a smile and wonder if it had any impact...made any difference...changed anybody's day...or life in any significant way. I think that matters to people...to know their life counts for something. That we're not just taking up space...oxygen...whittling away at time...breathing in and out until we're not breathing in and out. To do the little things like how I act in the line at the grocery store...or in traffic. What did I say today on the phone to the person on the other end. Did it edify? Encourage? Build up or tear down? Was I a part of their problem or their solution? When you think about it, it really does matter. It all adds up throughout this life we live. For crying out loud, something as simple as an email tonight brought a smile to my face. See how the little stuff can mean the world in terms of how it impacts those around us? But that's not why I want to do all these things...so that people feel good about their day. I do it in order to have an eternal impact...to make a kingdom difference. To leverage my life for something...some cause...some purpose...Somebody. And now we're getting somewhere. That's why we live...and move...and have our being. So that we can enjoy every moment of knowing that we're bringing glory to His name. Until every corner...every nook and cranny of this clod of dirt we live on echoes the name and renown of Jesus...until the whole earth resonates with His glory...spins and sings the song of the redeemed. If I can be a small part of that...that's a life well-lived.
