No God at All

The last full day here at the Gulf and then back to Birmingham. It's been a great time to reconnect with the priorities of life. My prayer is that this connection is reflected in my daily walk...that the pursuit of holiness becomes paramount and minutia becomes just that. Do you pursue holiness in your life? Holiness is all that God is (Rev 4:8/ Isaiah 6:3) and what He's called us to be (Lev. 11:44/ I Pet. 1:15-16). God's holiness is the essence of Him and means that He can't be anything but holy. That should have a calming affect on the heart of the believer. His actions toward us are always perfect...NEVER unfair. Are you on board with that? Wow! That's why it's never right (forgiveable...but never right) to get mad at God. Anger towards Him calls into question His goodness...His holiness. Fleshing this out can be hard when trying circumstances scream at us that He's anything but fair. It's then that we trust the Word of God (which is why we must know the Word of God). It tells us He's always perfect...always just...always holy (I Jn 1:5). Consider this statement by 17th Century Christian Stephen Charnock - "It is less injury to Him to deny His being, than to deny the purity of it; the one makes Him no God, the other a deformed, unlovely and a detestable God...he that says God is not holy, speaks much worse than he that says there is no God at all." Chase God today. Run after His heart as though He's the only thing you truly need...He is.The best Friday ever!
